Steven B. Becker

Steven B. Becker is a nationally recognized real estate and construction law attorney and a Partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP. Steven leads the firm’s Commercial Construction US Practice Group, helping clients across the country manage and navigate complex development and construction projects. His work spans a variety of sectors, including retail, multifamily housing, and industrial development.

Steven earned his B.A. from Dickinson College in 1993 and received his Juris Doctor, with distinction, from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1996. This strong academic foundation has supported a decades-long legal career built on strategic insight and in-depth understanding of the construction process from planning to completion.

Steven began his practice in Missouri and Kansas and is admitted to the United States District Courts for both the District of Kansas and the Western District of Missouri. Steven regularly negotiates and drafts construction-related agreements for public and private entities and is valued by domestic and international clients for his ability to anticipate and resolve issues efficiently.

In addition to his active legal practice, Steven mentors younger attorneys within the firm and serves as Chair of the Kansas City Recruiting Committee. He is deeply involved in professional legal communities, including the American Bar Association – Construction Section, the Missouri Bar Association, and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.
