David Stern

David’s educational journey began with earning a Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College in 2002. He then attended New York Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2007. His time at law school laid the foundation for his future career, equipping him with the skills necessary to handle various legal matters.

After law school, David built a uniquely diverse career at the intersection of real estate, technology, law, and finance. He began in operational real estate law with Forest City Ratner Companies, then helped develop Bloomberg Law’s innovative legal search platform—experience that deepened his expertise in legal technology. Following the Great Recession, David transitioned into financial services, spending six years at First Investors and Strategies For Wealth, where he guided clients through personal finance, estate planning, and tax strategies. During this time, he also co-founded a boutique legal practice focused on drafting wills and trusts for clients seeking integrated legal and financial planning.

In 2016, David Stern founded The Law Office of David Stern, where he focused on providing personal, client-centered legal services. His commitment to helping individuals led him to merge practices with Sean Mathey in 2019, creating Mathey and Stern Attorneys at Law. With his vast experience and client-first philosophy, David continues to help clients navigate legal challenges with confidence.
