Joseph Patrick McGill

Joseph Patrick McGill is a seasoned real estate attorney and Member at Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip, PLLC. Joseph earned his B.A. in Finance from Michigan State University in 1987, followed by both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Detroit in 1990. He later earned two Master of Laws degrees from Wayne State University School of Law—one in Taxation in 2001 and another in Corporate and Finance Law in 1994. Joseph’s advanced academic credentials enhance his skill in managing complex real estate and commercial legal issues.

Licensed in Michigan and Ohio, Joseph practices before multiple U.S. District Courts, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Veterans Appeals, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. Joseph handles a variety of real estate matters, including construction defects, environmental claims, property-related insurance disputes, and municipal liability litigation.

In addition to his legal practice, Joseph serves as the 90th President of the State Bar of Michigan. He is deeply involved in leadership and ethics initiatives, having held prior roles as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and President-Elect.
