About
Stefan M. Reinke serves as of counsel to Lyons, Brandt, Cook & Hiramatsu, where his practice focuses on civil litigation. He represents clients in tort, product liability, asbestos, professional liability, employment, and insurance bad-faith cases. He has extensive experience handling substantial exposure matters in both state and federal courts across Hawaii.
Stefan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communication from the University of Southern California in 1981. He went on to complete his Juris Doctor at the University of California, Davis School of Law in 1984. His academic training provided a foundation for a career devoted to high-stakes litigation and legal education.
Throughout his career, Stefan has defended companies and insurers in wrongful death and serious injury cases. He also frequently represents employers facing discrimination, wrongful termination, and claims under state and federal employment law. His background allows him to address complex disputes with precision while protecting his clients’ business interests.
In addition to litigation, Stefan serves as a labor arbitrator for disputes involving unions and employers, and is a member of the panel of neutrals for Dispute Prevention & Resolution. His experience as both advocate and neutral gives him a balanced perspective on resolving employment and labor conflicts efficiently and effectively.
Stefan has also contributed to the legal profession through teaching and writing. He lectured on Pre-trial Litigation at the William S. Richardson School of Law and taught business law at Windward Community College. His published work includes Restrictive Covenants and Trade Secrets for the Defense Research Institute’s Employment Law Basics monograph.
Recognized for professional excellence, Stefan M. Reinke has achieved an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been listed in Who’s Who in American Law since 1990. He is active in professional associations, having served as President of the Hawaii Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
