About

Spencer Mainka is a senior associate attorney who helps businesses handle employment-related legal challenges. Her practice includes defending clients in workplace litigation and managing claims involving discrimination, retaliation, and complex disputes. She also represents clients in arbitration and agency-level investigations.

Spencer began her education at the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology in 2013. She went on to receive her J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2019, where she focused on workplace law. During law school, she served as a board member for the Employment and Labor Law Student Association and assisted in academic and leadership programs.

While at Texas A&M, Spencer worked closely with Professor Michael Z. Green as a research assistant and earned recognition for her article on algorithm-based recruiting. She was also the Business Editor of the Journal of Property Law. Her deep interest in labor law guided her academic and practical training toward effective employment litigation.

Before entering law school, Spencer gained business experience managing a team of business formation specialists at LegalZoom. That early exposure to business operations strengthened her legal approach and made her solutions more practical and results-driven.

Recognized for her achievements, Spencer Mainka received the Tarrant County Outstanding Young Lawyer award in 2024 and was named a Top Attorney by Fort Worth Magazine and 360 West Magazine. She also shares her insights through published articles on workplace technology and legal strategies during the COVID-19 era. Spencer continues to support clients with strategic guidance and dedication to fair workplace practices, combining legal knowledge with real-world business insight.
