Spencer Mainka is a senior associate attorney who helps businesses handle employment-related legal challenges. Her practice includes defending clients in workplace litigation and managing claims involving discrimination, retaliation, and complex disputes. She also represents clients in arbitration and agency-level investigations.
Spencer began her education at the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology in 2013. She went on to receive her J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2019, where she focused on workplace law. During law school, she served as a board member for the Employment and Labor Law Student Association and assisted in academic and leadership programs.
While at Texas A&M, Spencer worked closely with Professor Michael Z. Green as a research assistant and earned recognition for her article on algorithm-based recruiting. She was also the Business Editor of the Journal of Property Law. Her deep interest in labor law guided her academic and practical training toward effective employment litigation.
Before law school, Spencer led a team of business formation specialists at LegalZoom, gaining hands-on experience in how companies are built and run. This early exposure to real-world business operations now powers her legal practice, helping her deliver practical, strategic, and results-driven legal solutions for her clients.
Recognized for her achievements, Spencer Mainka received the Tarrant County Outstanding Young Lawyer award in 2024 and was named a Top Attorney by Fort Worth Magazine and 360 West Magazine. She also shares her insights through published articles on workplace technology and legal strategies during the COVID-19 era.
