Shana J. Black

Shana J. Black is a highly respected San Diego family law attorney with over two decades of experience helping clients navigate divorce, child custody, and related legal matters. Admitted to the California Bar in 2000, Ms. Black is known for her meticulous approach, compassionate advocacy, and dedication to protecting parenting rights and family futures.

Ms. Black earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2000. While in law school, she served with distinction on the San Diego Law Review and was a recipient of the Merit Scholarship from 1997 to 2000.

Ms. Black’s legal excellence has been recognized through numerous awards, including the Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services, the CALI Award for High Achievement in Trusts and Estates, and International Civil Litigation. Before attending law school, she taught Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Econometrics as a graduate assistant and adjunct faculty member.

Black is a founding member and past president of the Mother Attorneys Mentoring Association and has served on the boards of the Federalist Society (San Diego Chapter) and the San Diego Republican Business Women’s Association.
