Sarah Kathryn Bryan is an experienced associate attorney at Shortell Law, LLC in Anchorage, Alaska. Her legal practice spans a broad range of areas, including family law, business and construction litigation, employment law, probate and estate planning, landlord-tenant matters, guardianship and conservatorship, and financial protective orders. Ms. Bryan holds a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law, where she was active as a 1L Representative in the Student Bar Association. She also earned a B.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was involved in campus leadership and education initiatives.
Ms. Bryan served as a judicial law clerk for Alaska’s Superior Court after completing her legal education. She then worked as a prosecutor for the Municipality of Anchorage, handling domestic violence offenses. This role gave her deep experience in protecting vulnerable individuals and navigating high-stakes legal proceedings. Her work continues to reflect a commitment to advocating for survivors of abuse, including contracting with the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault to provide civil legal representation.
Sarah Kathryn Bryan also contributes to public service through board memberships. She currently serves on the Board of Abused Women’s Aid in Crisis (AWAIC) and the Anchorage Board of Platting. She recently joined the AWAIC Board Foundation. In addition, she is a member of the Alaska Bar Association’s Bankruptcy, Business, Real Estate, and Family Law Sections, and the Anchorage Estate Planning Council, where she previously served as Executive Director.
