Roy Chamcharas

Roy Chamcharas is a seasoned intellectual property attorney with more than 15 years of experience representing top companies in complex IP matters. His legal work centers on patent litigation in district courts and post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He also serves as an accredited Veterans Affairs attorney.

Roy earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1999. He later obtained his Juris Doctor with honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2008. His academic strengths include top recognition in patent office practice, marked by a CALI Excellence Award.

Roy’s background includes litigation across a broad range of technologies, such as semiconductors, mobile devices, ERP systems, pharmaceuticals, and haptics. He has successfully handled high-stakes disputes involving imaging lenses, computer hardware, software systems, and medical delivery tools. His experience also includes time as a judicial extern in federal court and years of research engineering in the chemical sector, which gives him a technical edge in legal analysis.

Roy holds licenses to practice law in both Oregon and Illinois, and is also admitted before multiple federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is also registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
