Ronald S. Gellert

Ronald S. Gellert is a highly experienced commercial attorney with extensive practice across Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey courts, including the Delaware Court of Chancery. His work spans large Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, receiverships, out-of-court restructurings, and Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors. He represents debtors, creditors, and committees in major bankruptcy proceedings nationwide, providing strategic guidance that balances efficiency with strong advocacy.

Ronald Gellert earned his Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law in 1997, where he built a foundation in commercial and bankruptcy law. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with high honors from Rutgers College, completed in 1993. His education complements his practical experience in debtor-creditor relations, business reorganizations, and corporate litigation across multiple jurisdictions.

Before establishing Gellert, Scali, Busenkell & Brown, LLC, Ronald served as Member-in-Charge of the Wilmington office of Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott. Earlier in his career, he clerked for the Honorable Judith H. Wizmur and the Honorable Gloria M. Burns of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. In 2013, he was appointed by the Delaware Secretary of Finance as the first Independent Reviewer under the state’s revised Escheat Statute, adjudicating escheat appeals with impartiality and precision.

Ronald S. Gellert is admitted to practice in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is the Executive Director of the Delaware Bankruptcy American Inn of Court and Vice President of the Turnaround Management Association, recognized for his leadership, professionalism, and contributions to the bankruptcy and restructuring field.
