David Friedman

David Friedman is the founder of Friedman Murray, established in 2009. Over the course of his legal career, he helped hundreds of Minnesotans achieve a fresh financial start through bankruptcy representation. His work resulted in the discharge of millions of dollars in debt and provided clients with the opportunity to regain stability after financial hardship. David is particularly proud of his success in Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases, where his advocacy helped save clients’ homes during the mortgage crisis of the late 2000s.

David earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2006 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Binghamton University. Early in his career, he served as a Public Interest Fellow with the Coalition for Debtor Education at Fordham Law School, where he focused on financial literacy and consumer rights. Before founding his own firm, he worked with The Financial Clinic, assisting individuals in navigating debt-related challenges and promoting responsible financial practices.

Throughout his career, David has been recognized for his commitment to justice and education. He was named a North Star Lawyer by the Minnesota State Bar Association in 2014 and received multiple awards for his legal writing, including recognition among the Top 25 Legal Blawgs in Minnesota. His professional memberships include the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Hennepin County Bar Association, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.

Though David Friedman no longer practices law daily, he continues to consult on bankruptcy and complex consumer litigation. His lasting legacy lies in his dedication to protecting consumers, promoting financial recovery, and empowering individuals through education and advocacy.
