About
Robert I. Stolzman is a shareholder at Adler Pollock & Sheehan P.C. in Providence, Rhode Island. His real estate practice covers land use, municipal law, government affairs, regulatory approvals, and major property transactions. He represents national real estate developers and businesses with operations in Rhode Island. With more than 35 years of experience, he advises on projects involving industrial property, retail centers, transportation facilities, housing, hotels, and health care properties.
Robert earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from Bridgewater College in 1983 and a J.D. from Washington and Lee University in 1986. His legal education supports a practice requiring analysis of property rights, public approvals, financing structures, and local government processes. He applies that background to transactions that involve not only private contracts but also zoning requirements, permits, easements, and agreements with public agencies.
Robert advised Rhode Island on the acquisition of former Navy bases at Quonset and Davisville. He secured land use approvals and utility agreements for a power plant designed to use landfill methane and negotiated tax incentive documents involving major companies, including CVS, Bank of America, and Amgen. His work also includes residential deals exceeding $12 million and commercial transactions above $100 million, along with major rezoning and mixed-use development projects.
Robert I. Stolzman is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and has received recognition in Best Lawyers for real estate, real estate litigation, and public finance. He has also received the Rhode Island Bar Association Dorothy Lohmann Community Service Award. His long experience with developers, municipalities, and regulators helps clients work through difficult approval processes and complete substantial real estate projects.
