He also advises on medical leave, employee discipline, reductions in force, and agreements affecting employment relationships.
Michael earned a B.A. from Trinity College in 1995 and a J.D. from Boston College in 1998. His legal education supports a practice involving federal and state employment law, administrative agency proceedings, and the terms of collective bargaining agreements. Before entering the legal profession, he served on active duty in the U.S. Army during the first Gulf War and received an honorable discharge. He brings structured preparation to employment disputes and negotiations.
Michael has represented employers in collective bargaining proceedings, labor arbitrations, and litigation involving workplace discrimination and wage claims. He prevailed for an employer in a class action wage and hour matter involving a multimillion-dollar demand and successfully challenged a state agency decision that could have created more than $1 million in overtime liability. His work also includes obtaining summary judgment in employment discrimination cases and handling administrative wage disputes.
Michael D. Chittick received recognition as the 2027 Best Lawyers Lawyer of the Year in Labor Law, Management, and has been recognized for labor and employment practice by Chambers USA.
