Robert D. Boyd

Robert D. Boyd is a partner and trial attorney at The Stogsdill Law Firm, P.C. in Wheaton, Illinois. He focuses on complex family law matters, including custody disputes and financial issues, and is known for his strong courtroom advocacy and strategic approach to difficult domestic relations cases.

Robert earned his B.A. from Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Illinois, in 1971. He later received his J.D. from John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois, in 1975. After completing law school, he was admitted to practice law in Illinois the same year.

Robert began his legal career with the DuPage County Public Defender’s Office, where he served as a felony trial attorney for ten years. During that time, he also developed a successful family law practice while gaining extensive courtroom experience.

Robert joined The Stogsdill Law Firm, P.C. in 1995 as a trial attorney. He focuses on complex financial matters and custody trials and has tried more than 150 domestic relations cases involving business valuations, complex financial structures, and custody or modification disputes.

Robert’s extensive litigation experience has strengthened his ability to negotiate effective settlements. By working with business experts and forensic accounting investigators, he has helped uncover assets hidden within complex financial structures, increasing the value of marital estates and improving outcomes for his clients.

Robert has received professional recognition for his work and has been selected to Super Lawyers from 2020 through 2025. His experience and courtroom preparation often encourage resolution through settlement while maintaining readiness to proceed to trial when necessary.

Robert D. Boyd remains active in the legal community and has served as a delegate from DuPage County to the Illinois State Bar Association. He also participates in several DuPage County Bar Association committees and contributes to legal education through seminars and professional programs.
