Michael R. Murphy

Michael R. Murphy is an associate attorney at The Stogsdill Law Firm, P.C. in Wheaton, Illinois. He joined the firm in April 2022 and focuses his practice on family law and criminal representation. He works to guide clients through legal challenges with clear communication and careful attention.

Michael earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in May 2020. Before that, he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from DePaul University in 2017. During law school, he interned with the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office and conducted research on discovery procedures.

Michael began his legal career representing the State of Illinois as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Criminal Division of the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. In this role, he handled a range of criminal cases while gaining courtroom experience and developing strong litigation skills early in his career.

While serving as a prosecutor, Michael worked on cases involving domestic battery, property damage, possession of illegal substances, misdemeanor traffic violations, battery, and disorderly conduct. This experience gave him strong insight into criminal proceedings and courtroom strategy while helping him build a solid foundation in trial work.

Michael is admitted to practice law in Illinois and remains active in the legal community. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association. Through his work, he continues to assist clients with dedication and practical legal guidance.
