Brett T. Williamson

Brett T. Williamson is an attorney at The Stogsdill Law Firm, P.C. in Wheaton, Illinois. Since joining the firm in 2006, he has focused exclusively on matrimonial law, helping clients address complex family law issues with careful guidance, practical solutions, and strong advocacy.

Brett completed his undergraduate studies at Butler University, earning a B.A. in History and English in 2002. He later received his Juris Doctorate from The John Marshall Law School in December 2005. During his studies at Butler University, he received honors from the History department.

Brett began his legal career as an insurance coverage associate attorney at Bollinger, Ruberry & Garvey in Chicago, Illinois. This role provided valuable experience researching and resolving contractual issues before he joined The Stogsdill Law Firm, P.C. and began focusing on family law matters.

Brett represents clients in divorce, child custody, child support, collaborative law, mediation, family law matters, and appeals. He has successfully negotiated settlements and litigated disputes involving complex financial matters, custody issues, support, property division, and paternity-related matters.

Brett has received several professional recognitions for his work. He has been selected to Super Lawyers from 2023 through 2026 and was previously named a Rising Stars honoree from 2016 through 2019. He has also been recognized by Best Lawyers and Leading Lawyers.

Brett T. Williamson is committed to serving both his clients and community. He serves as general counsel and associate board president of Griffith Tutoring, a nonprofit organization that prepares at-risk Chicago high school students for the ACT through mentoring and tutoring programs.
