Richard C. Buslepp

Richard C. Buslepp is a seasoned attorney and Certified Public Accountant with over three decades of experience in corporate, tax, real estate, and estate planning law. A member at Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC and co-chair of the firm’s Business and Corporate Law practice group, Richard represents clients across diverse industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, engineering, technology, and transportation. His legal and financial expertise makes him a trusted advisor for complex business transactions and long-term strategic planning.

Richard earned both his J.D. and LL.M., cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School. His practice focuses on structuring and negotiating sophisticated domestic and international transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, divestitures, joint ventures, and finance deals. He has represented clients in private equity, closely held businesses, and nonprofit sectors, and has led transactions such as a $100 million refinancing for a Tier I auto supplier and the sale of a privately held aerospace engineering company. Richard also manages the firm’s US-Asia business practice, guiding foreign and U.S. companies in cross-border operations.

In addition to transactions, Richard advises clients on business formation, corporate governance, tax planning, contract negotiation, and estate planning. He is a frequent lecturer and author on business and tax-related topics, including entity selection, like-kind exchanges, and partnership taxation.
