John H. Ruby is a seasoned attorney and founder of John H. Ruby & Associates, serving clients in Louisville and the surrounding counties since 1999. With a career spanning over 30 years, John provides trusted legal counsel in estate planning, probate, business law, family law, and civil litigation. His client-focused approach ensures that each case is handled with personal attention, practical guidance, and unwavering dedication to achieving the best legal outcomes.

John earned his J.D. from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 1993 and his B.S. in Business Administration with a major in marketing and a minor in communications from the University of Louisville Business School in 1990. He was recognized on the Dean’s List and as a Dean’s Scholar throughout his academic career.

John launched his legal career leading the Estate Planning division at O’Koon, Menefee & Gray, where he also built a strong foundation in civil litigation. In 1999, he founded his own law firm to offer more personalized, client-focused legal services to individuals and businesses throughout Kentucky. Today, he is known for delivering effective representation in both complex transactional matters and high-stakes courtroom litigation.

As a frequent lecturer on estate planning topics and a former member of the Foundation for Personal Financial Education, John H. Ruby combines legal knowledge with educational outreach to help clients make informed decisions. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky and is an active member of the Kentucky, Louisville, and American Bar Associations.
