Rebecca D. Areaux

Rebecca D. Areaux is an associate whose practice focuses on intellectual property, data privacy, and business transactions. Before joining the firm, she gained hands-on experience in upstate New York, where she prosecuted and maintained trademarks, service marks, and brand portfolios. She also litigated trademark and copyright disputes, developing a strong understanding of brand protection and enforcement. Her work now includes advising clients on privacy policies, software licensing, SaaS agreements, and computer software litigation.

Rebecca earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame, where she studied Sociology and strengthened her analytical and writing skills. She went on to receive her J.D., cum laude, from William & Mary Law School. During law school, she served on the Journal of Women and the Law and competed as a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team.

Rebecca’s early experience includes serving as a summer extern for Diageo North America in its in-house intellectual property office, giving her valuable exposure to brand management in a global business setting. She later worked as a legal intern with the Office of the General Counsel at the Executive Office for Immigration Review and served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Robert J. Krask of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Rebecca D. Areaux continues to expand her practice at the firm by handling corporate and commercial matters in addition to her intellectual property and data privacy work. She is admitted in New York and Louisiana and has been recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Banking and Finance Law. Rebecca is an active member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Louisiana State Bar Association, contributing to the legal community through ongoing professional engagement.
