He earned an A.B., magna cum laude, from Princeton University, continued his studies at the New England Conservatory of Music, and completed his J.D., with honors, at Columbia University School of Law. He later served as a judicial clerk for Hon. Edward T. Gignoux at the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine.
