Raúl R. Labrador

Raúl R. Labrador serves as the 33rd Attorney General of Idaho, elected to his first term on November 8, 2022. Known for his strong commitment to constitutional principles and limited government, he leads Idaho’s legal efforts to safeguard state sovereignty, promote accountability, and ensure justice for all Idahoans. His leadership reflects an unwavering dedication to defending individual liberties and advancing policies rooted in transparency and conservative values.

Raúl earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law. While in law school, he interned for the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office and later served as a law clerk for the United States District Court for the District of Idaho. These formative experiences gave him a comprehensive understanding of both state and federal legal systems and inspired his lifelong dedication to public service.

Before assuming the role of Attorney General, Raúl built a distinguished political career. He served in the Idaho House of Representatives from 2006 to 2010, where he established a reputation for principled decision-making. He was then elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, serving from 2011 to 2019. In Congress, he chaired the Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security and co-founded the House Freedom Caucus, where he advocated for constitutional liberties, border security, and fiscal responsibility.

Since taking office in 2023, Attorney General Raúl Labrador has achieved notable legal victories defending Idaho’s independence from federal overreach. His work has earned recognition from the National Rifle Association, which awarded him an “A” rating, and from the National Federation of Independent Business, which named him a Guardian of Small Business. Labrador continues to uphold Idaho’s values of justice, integrity, and freedom.
