Ralph (Trey) D. Scott, III, is a shareholder at Lax Vaughan Fortson Rowe & Threet, P.A., where he focuses his practice on civil and business litigation in both state and federal courts. He has experience handling contract disputes, fraud, business torts, construction matters, estate disputes, and real estate litigation. Trey also represents financial institutions in workouts, foreclosures, and receivership actions.
Trey earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business, along with a Master of Arts in Accounting, from Hendrix College in 2012. Trey then pursued his Juris Doctor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, graduating cum laude in 2015. Before entering private practice, he worked in public accounting, gaining valuable experience in auditing and attestations, which enhances his ability to serve clients in financially complex litigation.
Since joining the firm in 2015, Trey has expanded his work into debtor-creditor litigation and the protection of creditor rights in bankruptcy proceedings. He has represented banks, lending institutions, and other businesses in matters requiring strategic litigation and negotiation. His advocacy extends to arbitration as well as trial courts, giving his clients strong representation in diverse forums.
Admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, Ralph (Trey) D. Scott, III is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He is an active member of the American Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, and the Pulaski County Bar Association.
