Rachel Legorreta focuses her legal practice on representing individuals harmed in serious accidents and negligence cases. Her work involves personal injury claims connected to motor vehicle collisions, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, nursing home abuse, and premises liability incidents such as slip and fall accidents.
Rachel earned a B.A. in Political Science from Northern Illinois University in 2014, where she also completed double minors in Philosophy and History. She later obtained her Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2017.
Rachel developed strong legal research and writing skills during her time as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge Donald C. Hudson of the Illinois Appellate Court, Second District. In that role, she examined case law and prepared draft opinions on issues including criminal sentencing and armed robbery matters.
Rachel contributes actively to the legal community through her involvement with the DuPage County Bar Association. She has served on the Civil Law committee and the New Lawyers Division committee. Rachel also worked with the editorial board of the DCBA Brief and served as editor-in-chief of the publication.
Rachel has written multiple legal articles addressing litigation and tort law topics. Her published work includes “Willful and Wanton Conduct Under the Tort Immunity Act,” “Examining the Government’s Defenses: Strategic Pleading Decisions Involving the Tort Immunity Act,” and “Beware the Slippery Slope: The Snow and Ice Removal Act.”
Rachel has also presented Continuing Legal Education programs for attorneys through the DuPage County Bar Association. Her lectures have included “Settling the Case: A Plaintiff’s Perspective,” “Dispositive Motions & The Tort Immunity Act,” and sessions focused on effective legal writing for publication.
Rachel Legorreta approaches each case with a focus on helping injured individuals pursue justice and fair financial recovery. She works to keep clients informed throughout the legal process while dedicating the time, resources, and careful attention needed to resolve complex personal injury claims.
