About
R Touhey Myer is a partner with extensive experience in intellectual property litigation and counseling. He represents clients in complex patent disputes before federal courts in Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, with a particular focus on Hatch-Waxman matters. Myer also prosecutes patent and trademark applications before the USPTO and provides strategic guidance on copyright infringement defense, drawing on his past work enforcing copyright claims to help clients resolve disputes efficiently.
Myer earned his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2009 after completing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at Drexel University’s Pennoni Honors College in 2006. Admitted to practice in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, he is also registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and admitted to multiple federal district courts. His technical background in engineering enhances his ability to litigate patent disputes across a wide range of technologies.
In addition to intellectual property law, Myer maintains a specialized practice in American Beverage Law. He advises clients in the pharmaceutical and wine and spirits industries, often serving as outside general counsel. His representative experience includes successfully terminating franchise agreements before regulatory boards, negotiating favorable copyright settlements, and serving as Delaware counsel in high-profile litigation such as Ryanair DAC v. Booking Holdings, Inc., where he helped secure a first-of-its-kind CFAA jury verdict.
An active member of the intellectual property community, R Touhey Myer served as President of the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association in 2020 and remains engaged in bar associations and professional committees.
