R. Jay Chandler

R. Jay Chandler is Of Counsel at Norman Wohlgemuth, LLP, whose practice focuses on general corporate law, business transactions, and real estate. He has represented clients involved in major credit facilities, oil and gas services, corporate aircraft matters, commercial real estate projects, employment and consulting arrangements, and business acquisitions and sales. He previously served as president of the firm for many years and has advised companies conducting business in the US and internationally.

Jay earned his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law and his B.A. from Missouri Southern State College. His education laid the foundation for a career centered on transactional work, business counseling, commercial agreements, financing, and real estate matters. He later served as an adjunct professor at the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa, adding teaching experience to his long-standing corporate and transactional practice.

Jay began his legal career with the Criminal Division of the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office and later joined the legal staff of Cities Service Company. He joined Norman Wohlgemuth in 1982 and broadened the firm’s business transaction capabilities. His work has included the funding of major credit facilities, commercial leasing and construction, corporate aircraft charters and maintenance, employment arrangements, consulting agreements, and the purchase and sale of businesses.

R. Jay Chandler brings decades of corporate and transactional experience to businesses operating across varied industries and markets. He has represented clients doing business in South America, Europe, and Africa, as well as companies with domestic operations. He is admitted before the US District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma and the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. His professional affiliations include the Oklahoma Bar Association and Tulsa County Bar Association.
