William F. Capps is a partner and chairman of the Corporate Department at Jeffer Mangels & Mitchell LLP, whose practice centers on business law and corporate matters. He represents corporate, insurance, and banking clients in securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, corporate finance, franchising, real estate, litigation management, and healthcare transactions. William earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. He received his B.A. with high honors from Whittier College. During law school, he served as Note and Comment Editor of the California Law Review. His academic background provided the foundation for a practice involving corporate transactions, securities matters, finance, governance, international work, and strategic business counseling.
William represents Fortune 500 companies and nonprofit organizations in international transactions and advises building materials companies on business matters. His experience includes counseling significant Southern California families on business and personal planning, including succession planning. He manages major disputes strategically and works with clients on mergers and acquisitions, project finance, investment capital, banking, real estate, natural resources, nonprofit matters, and other corporate concerns.
William F. Capps is admitted to the State Bar of California and has held leadership roles in international legal organizations. He formerly served as Chairman and Director of Interlaw Ltd., an international association of law firms. He organizes monthly Corporate Counsel Roundtable programs for in-house counsel and represents the aggregate mining industry before the State Board of Mining and Geology and legislature. His practice combines transactional, advisory, international, and business-focused legal work.
