Phil Gibbons

Phil Gibbons founded Gibbons Law Group, PLLC, a Charlotte-based law firm dedicated exclusively to employment and long-term disability law. With a nearly three-decades-long career, Phil is known for his aggressive and innovative litigation strategies, which have secured justice for thousands of employees across the United States.

Phil earned his Juris Doctor from the Indiana University School of Law in 1996. He is licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and Indiana. Phil began his legal career representing employers at a large national law firm. In 2001, he transitioned to advocating for employees, leveraging his insider knowledge to fight workplace discrimination, wage violations, retaliation, and harassment on behalf of clients ranging from C-suite executives to hourly workers.

Phil’s battle with Stage III Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2010 significantly shaped his practice. Following a successful recovery, Phil began representing individuals wrongfully denied long-term disability insurance benefits. Today, he is a powerful advocate for clients pursuing claims under both private and ERISA-governed disability insurance policies.
