About
Norman M. Abramson is a shareholder and trial lawyer with more than 30 years of experience in trust and estate litigation and intellectual property litigation. His trust work includes fiduciary disputes, will contests, instrument validity issues, account disputes, probate proceedings, and advice to trustees and other fiduciaries. He also handles trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition, false advertising, patent, inventorship, and other intellectual property disputes.
Norman earned a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School and a B.A., cum laude, from Boston University. His education provided a foundation in legal analysis, research, writing, and advocacy that supports his trial and appellate practice. He is admitted in Minnesota and before several federal district and appellate courts, including the Fourth, Eighth, Ninth, and Federal Circuits.
Norman has represented trustees, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, corporations, and other clients in complex trials and appeals. His estate work has involved breach of trust claims, contested wills, trust terminations, conservatorships, beneficiary disputes, and estate administration issues. His intellectual property experience includes trademark infringement, counterfeiting, copyright claims, trade dress, cyber-squatting, patent disputes, and brand protection. He also advises clients on developing and protecting intellectual property portfolios.
Norman M. Abramson co-chairs both the Trust and Estate Litigation Practice Group and the Intellectual Property Practice Group. He belongs to the Federal Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, and Ramsey County Bar Association. His honors include Best Lawyers in America recognition for intellectual property litigation and prior North Star Lawyer and Minnesota Rising Stars recognition. His practice combines courtroom experience, appellate work, fiduciary litigation, and intellectual property strategy. He has also presented on fiduciary responsibilities, trust litigation, trademark law, and related issues for legal and business audiences over time.
