About

Nicholas A. Norris is a dedicated Wyoming attorney whose practice spans business law, estate planning, real estate, and litigation. Before becoming a lawyer, he was an entrepreneur who launched and grew a successful company after winning a university competition. That experience gave him firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities business owners face, which he now applies in his legal practice to guide companies through formation, contracts, negotiations, transactions, and long-term strategic planning.

Mr. Norris earned his B.S. in Geography from the University of Wyoming in 2007. He later pursued legal studies and earned his J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law and M.A. in Environment and Natural Resources in 2012 from the University of Wyoming. His combined education in law and environmental studies provided him with valuable knowledge for serving clients in Wyoming’s oil and gas sector. Admitted to practice in Wyoming and the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming, he represents clients across the state with diligence and skill.

In his career, Mr. Norris has represented landowners in oil and gas matters, including negotiating surface use agreements, enforcing mineral leases, conducting title work, and auditing royalty payments. His unique perspective allows him to craft meaningful solutions for landowners that address financial, environmental, and contractual concerns. Beyond energy law, he has developed a strong estate planning practice, helping families protect their futures, plan for succession, and safeguard assets through practical and effective legal strategies.

Nicholas A. Norris also handles real estate, easement issues, and defense of non-compete agreements, making him a versatile and pragmatic attorney. He is a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer. Active in his community, he serves on nonprofit boards and committees, reflecting his commitment to both professional excellence and public service across Wyoming.
