Mike Goolsby

Mike Goolsby is a criminal defense attorney and founder of The Goolsby Law Firm in Dallas, Texas. With more than 30 years of legal experience, he represents clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges throughout Dallas County and North Texas. His practice includes DWI, drug offenses, assault and family violence, theft, probation violations, white collar matters, and other criminal cases. Goolsby draws on experience from both sides of the courtroom when developing defense strategies for his clients.

Goolsby earned his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1994 after receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Texas in 1990. His business education and legal training provided a foundation for evaluating complex facts, evidence, and legal risks. After law school, he began building substantial courtroom experience that would later support his work representing individuals accused of crimes in Texas state courts.

Goolsby began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney with the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, where he gained firsthand experience with criminal prosecutions and trial procedure. He later practiced civil law for Maverick Acceptance Group, a venture capital company, before establishing The Goolsby Law Firm in 1999. His former prosecutorial experience helps him evaluate how the State develops criminal cases, while his defense practice focuses on reviewing evidence, identifying weaknesses, negotiating with prosecutors, and preparing matters for trial.
