Michael Stanker

Michael Stanker is a seasoned attorney at The Law Office of Evan Barrickman P.C. in Anchorage, Alaska. Michael graduated cum laude from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. He earned his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2009. After law school, Michael clerked for the Supreme Court of the Northern Mariana Islands. He remained in the territory, serving as an Assistant Attorney General, General Counsel for the Judiciary, and Executive Director of the Law Revision Commission. He litigated cases involving civil rights, condemnation, employment, and contract disputes.

In 2016, Michael relocated to Anchorage to serve as an Assistant Attorney General with the Alaska Department of Law. He handled a wide range of legal matters, including employment discrimination, licensing, collections, and health and safety enforcement. He later joined the U.S. Department of the Interior as an attorney-advisor.

At the Department of the Interior, Michael represented the agency in hearings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Merit Systems Protection Board. He also managed personal injury, property damage, and wrongful death claims. His government background gives him a deep understanding of administrative law and trial advocacy.
