Mark Clauss

Mark Clauss brings over 20 years of litigation and legal advisory experience to Hildebrand Law Firm, where he serves business and individual clients with practical, results-oriented legal strategies. His extensive background includes five years as in-house counsel—most recently as General Counsel for Milwaukee’s first microbrewery since prohibition—giving him unique insight into real-world business challenges.

Mark earned his Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School in May 2005, where he gained hands-on experience through the Moot Court program and the Mediation Clinic at Milwaukee County Circuit Court. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Certificate in International Business from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he also competed as a walk-on athlete in men’s track and field.

Mark concentrates his practice in business law, civil litigation, real estate, regulatory compliance, licensing, and food safety. He has represented clients ranging from small startups to established enterprises, navigating a wide range of issues, including contract disputes, regulatory hurdles, and complex transactions and litigation.

In addition to practicing law, Mark is a frequent presenter and author on legal topics such as foreclosure, valuation standards, and dealership law. His work includes contributions to bankruptcy treatises and seminars, reflecting a deep knowledge of both litigation and compliance. His bar admissions include multiple state and federal courts throughout Wisconsin and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
