Amy J. Schrum is a dedicated Alaska attorney with a multifaceted practice encompassing personal injury, wrongful death, probate, wills, business organization, civil litigation, family law, and criminal defense. Amy earned her B.A. in Political Science from Boston College, where she also played Division I hockey. She received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School with a concentration in litigation. Her academic and athletic discipline has shaped her approach to delivering results-focused legal representation.

While in law school, Amy gained valuable experience interning with the Fairbanks District Attorney’s Office and a local law firm, where she developed practical skills in legal analysis and case preparation. After earning her degree, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable David C. Stewart of the Alaska Court of Appeals, where she further developed her understanding of complex criminal law and refined her courtroom and research skills.

Amy later joined Zimmerman & Wallace as an Associate, handling a wide range of civil law matters. She went on to become a founding partner at Downes & Tallerico Law Firm, LLC, later Downes, Tallerico, & Schwalm, where she played a key role in litigation and case development across diverse practice areas.

Amy J. Schrum is admitted to practice in Alaska State Court and the Federal District Court and is an active member of the Alaska Bar Association. Her diverse legal experience and hands-on litigation background make her a valuable advocate for both individuals and businesses.
