Michael S. Kolman

Michael S. Kolman is a highly skilled litigator with a strong record of representing both employers and employees in complex legal matters. With deep experience in employment disputes, administrative hearings, and business litigation, he has helped clients navigate challenging legal issues in state and federal courtrooms. His trial experience spans approximately ten jury trials and many bench trials.

Michael began his academic path at Pennsylvania State University, earning a B.A. in Industrial Arts Education in 1975. He continued his studies with an M.B.A. in Urban Studies from Southern Connecticut State University in 1977. He then earned his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1981, gaining the legal foundation to build his accomplished career.

Michael has tried some of the earliest sexual harassment and HIV discrimination cases in Central Ohio. He regularly represents clients before agencies like the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, and the Ohio Personnel Board of Review. His work has included discrimination claims based on sex, race, religion, and disability, as well as retaliation, whistleblower actions, and intentional tort cases.

Michael’s litigation background extends to business-related matters including partnership dissolutions, commercial leases, business fraud, consumer law disputes, and franchise conflicts. He has also been involved in defalcation cases and forced receiverships, providing legal counsel in a wide range of commercial issues.

Michael has managed legal challenges in election law, RICO actions, environmental abatement, and personal injury claims. He also represents attorneys in legal malpractice matters, bringing a comprehensive understanding of professional standards and liability. Additionally, he advises employers on human resources concerns to help prevent future legal problems.
