Kevin J. Coleman is a dedicated Kentucky criminal defense and civil rights attorney and the founder of KC Law Office, LLC in Louisville. He has dedicated his career to defending people accused of crimes, from minor offenses to the most serious charges, including capital murder. With over seven years of experience at the Louisville-Metro Public Defender’s Office, Mr. Coleman brings strong courtroom experience and deep knowledge of criminal law to every case he takes.
Mr. Coleman earned his B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy. He later earned his J.D. from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. While in law school, he founded the ACLU-KY Chapter at Brandeis and was active in the American Constitution Society.
Mr. Coleman has defended thousands of criminal cases across all levels of Kentucky courts. He has represented clients in traffic offenses, felony drug charges, violent crimes, and capital cases involving the death penalty. He has tried many cases to verdict, always fighting for his clients’ rights and freedoms. His experience in both the adult trial and capital trial divisions gives him the tools to build strong, effective defenses for his clients.
In 2022, Mr. Coleman established KC Law Office, LLC to provide focused, client-centered criminal defense. The firm helps clients with a wide range of legal issues, including DUIs, assaults, homicides, federal charges, and expungements. Mr. Coleman is known for his aggressive advocacy, clear communication, and personal attention to each case.
