Kevin J. Coleman

Kevin J. Coleman is a dedicated Kentucky criminal defense and civil rights attorney and the founder of KC Law Office, LLC in Louisville. He has dedicated his career to defending people accused of crimes, from minor offenses to the most serious charges, including capital murder. With over seven years of experience at the Louisville-Metro Public Defender’s Office, Mr. Coleman brings strong courtroom experience and deep knowledge of criminal law to every case he takes.

Mr. Coleman earned his B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy. He later earned his J.D. from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. While in law school, he founded the ACLU-KY Chapter at Brandeis and was active in the American Constitution Society.

Mr. Coleman is an experienced Kentucky criminal defense lawyer who has handled thousands of cases in courts across the state. He defends clients facing charges ranging from traffic offenses and felony drug crimes to serious violent offenses and death penalty capital cases. With extensive trial experience and a strong record of taking cases to verdict, he aggressively protects his clients’ rights and freedom. His background in both adult trial and capital trial divisions equips him to build strategic, effective defenses in even the most complex criminal cases.

In 2022, Mr. Coleman established KC Law Office, LLC to provide focused, client-centered criminal defense. The firm helps clients with a wide range of legal issues, including DUIs, assaults, homicides, federal charges, and expungements. Mr. Coleman is known for his aggressive advocacy, clear communication, and personal attention to each case.
