Michael B. Marion is a registered patent attorney whose practice centers on developing intellectual property protection strategies for innovators and creators. Drawing on over a decade of experience at a leading patent boutique and a national law firm, he represents clients locally in Arizona and nationwide. His work spans patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and intellectual property counseling, with a strong emphasis on litigation and strategic portfolio development.
Marion earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and his B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering.
Marion has led enforcement campaigns to stop infringement of clients’ core technologies, built and prosecuted patent and trademark portfolios designed to withstand trial, and identified weaknesses in competitors’ intellectual property. He also assists companies in monetizing their assets, conducting due diligence, and negotiating licensing agreements. His practice includes representing clients in Section 337 investigations before the International Trade Commission and in federal district court litigation.
Admitted to practice in Arizona, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, Michael B. Marion is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. His federal court admissions include the District of Arizona, District of Colorado, Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the First and Ninth Circuits. His background in engineering enhances his ability to address technically complex matters in diverse industries.
