Matthew Williams is a partner at Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP in Louisville, Kentucky, and a leading member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Protection & Litigation Service Team. He received his B.S. with highest honors in Engineering Science from the Speed Scientific School at the University of Louisville in 1992.

Before joining Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP in 2005, Matthew worked for a decade at GE Appliances, where he held roles in design engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing. This technical background informs his deep understanding of patentable technologies in fields such as medical devices, refrigeration, consumer products, and industrial machinery. He has successfully prosecuted and enforced patents and trademarks worldwide, managed cross-border IP portfolios, and advised on complex domain name disputes and trade secret protection.

Matthew Williams has received numerous accolades, including Best Lawyers in America® for Trademark and Copyright Law (2020–present) and the 2023 “Lawyer of the Year” for Copyright Law.
