Matthew T. Christensen is a member of Johnson May and an experienced Idaho attorney focusing on litigation, bankruptcy, real estate, and commercial law. He regularly represents businesses, fiduciaries, and individuals in complex civil disputes, including finance and secured transactions, property matters, and bankruptcy administration. In addition to litigation, his practice includes transactional work in real estate, finance, franchising, and business law, where he provides clients with practical, results-driven solutions.
Mr. Christensen earned his J.D. and LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from Duke University School of Law in 2005. While at Duke, he served as Articles Editor for the Duke Journal of Gender Law & Policy. He also holds a B.A. in International Studies from Brigham Young University, which he completed in 2002. His educational background provides a strong foundation for his work in both domestic and international business law.
Before joining Johnson May in 2008, Mr. Christensen served as a junior partner at a Meridian, Idaho law firm before launching his own solo practice. This diverse background in both firm and solo settings strengthened his courtroom advocacy skills and his work in complex transactional matters. Today, he also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Idaho College of Law, teaching courses in international trade and business, real estate transactions, and law practice management.
Matthew T. Christensen is admitted to practice in Idaho and Montana and is an active member of the Idaho State Bar Association, serving in the Business & Corporate Law, Commercial Law & Bankruptcy, and Real Property sections. He is also a member of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society and the Montana State Bar.
