Matthew Gibson is a principal attorney at Conley Rose, P.C., in Houston, Texas, where he focuses on intellectual property law. Mr. Gibson earned his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 2009. He also holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was part of the Engineering Honors Program and a member of Eta Kappa Nu, the electrical and computer engineering honor society. This combination of legal and technical training positions him well to support clients in fields such as electronics, telecommunications, mechanical systems, software, and medical devices.

Before joining Conley Rose, P.C., Matthew Gibson served as general counsel for a technology-driven oilfield services company. In that role, he developed and implemented IP strategies, managed outside counsel, and advised the executive team on legal and business planning. His experience also includes negotiating contracts and aligning IP initiatives with research and development efforts. That hands-on business experience sharpened his understanding of practical legal strategies and client needs.

Mr. Gibson also spent time seconded to a client, performing a comprehensive freedom-to-operate and infringement analysis for medical laboratory equipment. He brings a business-minded, client-focused approach to every engagement, balancing value and risk while maintaining strong professional relationships.

Matthew Gibson is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas, as well as the State Bar of Texas. Mr. Gibson continues to provide thoughtful, responsive legal support to businesses navigating today’s fast-paced innovation landscape.
