About
Dana LeJune is an accomplished intellectual property lawyer with over 30 years of experience representing creatives and professionals in copyright infringement, Lanham Act, and other civil litigation matters. With offices in Texas and North Carolina, he has become a trusted advocate for photographers, architects, illustrators, and design firms across the country.
Dana earned his J.D. from the South Texas College of Law in January 1983, where he also published a maritime law article in the South Texas Law Journal. He was admitted to the Texas Bar in May 1983 after passing the February Bar Exam. He began solo practice later that year, following a brief period with a civil litigation firm.
Dana’s legal journey into copyright litigation began when a personal injury client—also a photographer—asked for help after his work was used without consent. Since then, Dana has helped dozens of artists secure justice through litigation. He blends a trial lawyer’s command of courtroom advocacy with a genuine passion for protecting creative work.
Dana is board-certified in civil trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (since 1991) and is AV Preeminent Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, with the highest recognition for professional excellence and ethics. He also serves as the recommended attorney for the Texas Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers.
Licensed in all Texas state courts and numerous federal jurisdictions, including the U.S. Supreme Court, Dana has argued cases in districts across the country. His litigation experience also includes business disputes, non-compete agreements, labor violations, employment discrimination, consumer law, and professional negligence.
Dana LeJune is active in multiple Bar associations and has earned a national reputation for client-centered, trial-ready representation. Whether defending artists from infringement or litigating unfair competition or breach of contract, he brings strategy, empathy, and resolve to every case. Dana continues to lead in the field of copyright and intellectual property law, standing up for the rights of creatives and professionals in a wide range of complex civil matters.
