Matthew Dake

Matthew Dake is an experienced attorney at Rush & Nicholson, P.L.C., who has dedicated over 25 years to helping injured workers and accident victims obtain the fair outcomes they deserve. Inspired early in life by advocating for his brother with profound disabilities, Matthew chose to become a lawyer to speak up for people who need a strong voice. He focuses his practice on personal injury and workers’ compensation cases, standing up for clients who have been hurt at work or because of someone else’s negligence.

Matthew earned his B.A. in Business and Communications from the University of Northern Iowa in 1994 and subsequently received his J.D. from the Creighton University School of Law in 1997. Since then, he has committed his career to protecting injured workers’ rights and guiding clients through the complex legal system with honesty and compassion.

Over the years, Matthew has been appointed to the Iowa Workers’ Compensation Commissioner Disability Task Force and was elected to the Iowa Association for Justice (IAJ) Core Group by his peers. He is recognized nationally as one of the top attorneys for injured workers by the Workplace Injury Litigation Group (WILG). As a mediator in workers’ compensation cases, he helps resolve disputes effectively so his clients can move forward. He is an active member of the State Bar Association, the Linn County Bar Association, the IAJ, and the Inns of Court. Licensed in Iowa Federal Courts and previously in Nebraska, Matthew brings broad legal experience to every case.
