About
Mark M. Kovacich is a partner at Kovacich Snipes Johnson, where his practice is devoted entirely to plaintiffs’ litigation. He represents clients in environmental litigation, toxic torts, serious personal injury law, products liability, workers’ compensation, construction accidents, and safe workplace cases. He has handled major claims against corporations and other defendants, combining trial preparation, technical case analysis, and courtroom advocacy in complex matters involving substantial injuries and damages across Montana.
Mark earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of Montana School of Law in 1999, where he participated in the Public Land & Resources Law Review. He earned his B.S., with honors, in Environmental Engineering from Montana Tech of the University of Montana in 1996. His engineering background supports his work in environmental, toxic exposure, workplace, and product-related litigation, cases involving scientific, industrial, or technical evidence and causation issues.
Mark has served as trial counsel in significant environmental and injury cases, including Sunburst v. Texaco and Livingston v. BNSF. He has recovered more than $350 million for clients statewide, including a $41.2 million jury verdict. He has been named Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Montana Trial Lawyers Association three times and received the association’s Appellate Advocacy Award twice for his work in major plaintiff civil litigation matters.
Mark M. Kovacich became a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2025 and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has held leadership roles with the Montana Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. He is admitted in Montana, US District Court for the District of Montana, and US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, with 100% of his practice devoted to civil litigation matters.
