About

Mackinzie Daughton is an attorney whose practice covers estate planning and administration, business and corporate transactions, family law and adoption, and labor and employment litigation. She brings a thoughtful and client-centered approach to each matter, helping individuals, families, and business owners with both everyday concerns and complex legal challenges.

Mackinzie graduated from the University of Iowa in 2020 with a B.A. in Ethics and Public Policy, also earning a certificate in sustainability. She went on to complete her juris doctor at Drake University Law School in 2024. These degrees reflect her strong academic preparation and interest in connecting legal solutions with broader social and policy issues.

Mackinzie gained valuable experience while at Drake, where she was active in student organizations and professional development opportunities. She participated in Drake Law Women and Delta Theta Phi, and contributed as a member of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law, serving as Note Editor. Her note, Hemp: The Gateway to Federal Legalization of Marijuana, was selected for publication, reflecting her research and writing abilities.

Mackinzie also trained as a student attorney in the Drake Entrepreneurial and Transactional Clinic, counseling business owners as part of the Governor’s Empower Rural Iowa Initiative. These experiences allowed her to work directly with clients while building practical skills in business and transactional law. They also gave her insight into the needs of Iowa’s communities and small businesses.

Mackinzie Daughton combines education, experience, and community involvement to provide effective and trusted representation for her clients. Mackinzie is admitted to practice in Iowa and is a member of the Polk County Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association, and Delta Theta Phi International Law Fraternity.
