Lauren Mariko Wegener

Lauren Mariko Wegener is the owner and managing attorney of Emerald City Law Group. She represents clients with empathy, strength, and strategic focus. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington, graduating with a double major in Philosophy and Law, Societies, and Justice. She earned her Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law, gaining early experience at the Washington Attorney General’s Office, where she focused on assault-related prosecutions.

Lauren’s legal experience spans both prosecution and defense. She began her career as a public defender and later joined a prominent private defense firm, sharpening her trial skills and expanding her expertise in criminal defense. Her background gives her a unique edge when evaluating cases and anticipating opposing strategies.

At Emerald City Law Group, Lauren handles a range of criminal matters, including DUI, assault, theft, fraud, drug crimes, and probation violations. She also practices personal injury and traffic defense. Lauren takes the time to understand the full scope of each case, challenging incomplete narratives in police reports and crafting compelling defenses that reflect her clients’ full story and character.

Lauren Mariko Wegener is admitted to practice in Washington and the U.S. District Court and is a member of several bar associations and civil rights organizations. She is actively involved with the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and local women’s lawyer chapters.
