Lauren Mariko Wegener

Lauren Mariko Wegener is the owner and managing attorney of Emerald City Law Group. She represents clients with empathy, strength, and strategic focus. She is deeply committed to giving her clients a voice, particularly during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. With a personalized, client-centered approach, she fights to protect rights and secure just outcomes.

Lauren holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington, graduating with a double major in Philosophy and Law, Societies, and Justice. She earned her Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law, gaining early experience at the Washington Attorney General’s Office, where she focused on assault-related prosecutions.

Lauren brings experience on both sides of the courtroom—prosecution and defense. She launched her career as a public defender and later joined a leading private criminal defense firm, where she honed her trial advocacy and litigation skills. This well-rounded background gives her a strategic advantage in evaluating criminal cases, building strong defense strategies, and anticipating the opposition’s next move.

At Emerald City Law Group, Lauren handles a range of criminal matters, including DUI, assault, theft, fraud, drug crimes, and probation violations. She also practices personal injury and traffic defense. Lauren takes the time to understand the full scope of each case, challenging incomplete narratives in police reports and crafting compelling defenses that reflect her clients’ full story and character.

Lauren Mariko Wegener is admitted to practice in Washington and the U.S. District Court and is a member of several bar associations and civil rights organizations. She is actively involved with the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and local women’s lawyer chapters. Lauren is known for her legal acumen and dedication to fairness, resilience, and the humanity behind every case she takes on.
