About

Lauren Anselowitz is a partner at Harlan York & Associates and has been named to Best Lawyers in America for her exceptional work in immigration law. She has successfully argued multiple cases under the Convention Against Torture before the U.S. Immigration Court, a rare outcome achieved in fewer than 1% of cases. She also prevailed before the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals, winning the vacating of a deportation order.

Lauren earned her undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and subsequently completed her Juris Doctor at Seton Hall Law School. She went on to receive a Master of Arts from the John C. Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations. Her education also includes studies at the American University in Cairo and legal service in international criminal law at the Special Court for Sierra Leone, enriching her global legal perspective.

With extensive experience, Lauren has represented clients in Immigration Courts and Service Offices across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. She regularly resolves complex family- and employment-based green card applications, citizenship issues, and nonimmigrant visa petitions, including H, L, E, O, and R visas. Her practice also includes substantial work on applications under the Violence Against Women Act.

In addition to her client representation, Lauren Anselowitz serves as an adjunct professor of Immigration Law at Montclair State University and has lectured at Rutgers Law School, the New Jersey State Bar, and the Federal Bar Association. Recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for four years, she continues to be a respected voice in the field.

Lauren is admitted to the Supreme Court of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits.
