About
Lauren A. DiMartino is a civil rights attorney known for her wide-ranging work in housing discrimination, disability rights, employment law, and LGBTQ+ protections. She represents individuals, nonprofits, and community organizations in both trial and appellate courts. Her work holds systems accountable while promoting fairness in public services, workplaces, and education.
Lauren holds a B.A. from Penn State University (2005), an M.S. from Kansas State University (2012), and a J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law (2018), where she concentrated in Social Justice, Equality, and Civil Rights. She clerked for Judge Martha Craig Daughtrey on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Lauren has extensive experience using the Fair Housing Act, Title VII, Title IX, the ADA, and Section 504 to challenge housing segregation, advocate for workplace rights, and support access to education and health care. She also provides legal guidance to disability service providers and community mental health organizations to help them navigate regulations and continue critical services.
Lauren previously served as Legal Fellow at the University of Colorado School of Law’s Byron White Center, where she focused on new civil rights legislation and civic engagement. Before becoming a lawyer, she worked in education at New York City community colleges, helping students overcome systemic barriers to academic success.
Lauren has earned recognition as a Maryland Super Lawyers Rising Star (2024–2025) and was named among the Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch in multiple categories. She is fluent in Spanish and remains active in advocacy through roles with Baltimore Youth Arts, FreeState Justice, and other community organizations.
