Eve Hill is a nationally recognized civil rights attorney known for championing the rights of individuals with disabilities, LGBTQ+ communities, and marginalized groups. She has led groundbreaking litigation in federal courts, achieving victories in cases involving accessible voting, prison reform, web accessibility, and equal workplace rights.
Eve began her academic journey at Sweet Briar College, earning her B.A. magna cum laude in 1986. She later obtained her J.D. cum laude from Cornell Law School in 1989. Admitted to practice in California, the District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, and Virginia, she combines sharp legal skills with a strategic approach to systemic reform.
Eve’s legal career includes leadership roles in both government and nonprofit sectors. As Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, she enforced landmark policies on disability rights, education access, and digital accessibility. Her work influenced national policy and shaped legal frameworks for people with disabilities.
Eve also directed the Office of Disability Rights for the District of Columbia, managing ADA compliance across government systems. She later served as Executive Director of the Disability Rights Legal Center, where she led major programs focusing on litigation, education advocacy, and mediation for individuals with disabilities.
Eve’s advocacy continues through her consulting work on inclusion and accessibility. She has represented clients in critical cases, including challenges to discrimination in federal prisons, housing access for veterans with disabilities, and employment bias based on disability and sexual orientation.
Eve Hill remains a powerful force in the fight for equality, using her decades of experience to drive legal change and ensure fair treatment under the law for all communities. She has received many honors, including consistent recognition as one of the top civil rights lawyers in the U.S. from 2020 through 2025. She has also been inducted into the National Disability Mentoring Coalition’s Hall of Fame and was honored for her leadership in disability law and public policy.
