Kristan Peters-Hamlin

Kristan Peters-Hamlin is a Norwalk employment lawyer and the Managing Partner of Peters Hamlin Law, LLC, serving clients across Connecticut in employment and civil litigation matters. She has litigated cases in thirty states involving employment discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower claims under the Dodd-Frank and Sarbanes-Oxley Acts, defamation, trade secrets, executive compensation, unfair competition, and constitutional law. She has dozens of jury verdicts, more than forty appellate arguments, and thirty-seven published decisions, reflecting her depth of experience in both state and federal courts.

Kristan earned her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law and her B.S. from Cornell University. While in law school, she served as Symposium Editor of the Texas International Law Journal and published a scholarly note on international contract law. Her strong academic foundation supports her analytical and courtroom skills, particularly in complex statutory and constitutional matters.

Kristan served nearly six years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C., in both the Criminal and Civil Divisions. In the Civil Division, she defended federal agencies in discrimination cases, gaining valuable insight into government litigation strategy. She has written over fifty appellate briefs and tried numerous cases to verdict, helping employees, executives, and businesses resolve high-stakes disputes. Her work includes defending whistleblowers, pursuing discrimination claims, and protecting trade secrets.

Kristan Peters-Hamlin, admitted in Connecticut and in multiple federal courts, including the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Fourth, and D.C. Circuits, is widely recognized for her litigation skills. She has received honors such as the Connecticut Legal Awards “Giant Slayer” recognition and the Top 20 Jury Verdict Award.
