Kimberly A. Beatty

Kimberly A. Beatty is a Shareholder at Browning Kaleczyc Berry & Hoven P.C and a member of the firm’s Commercial and Litigation Groups. Her practice focuses on business and commercial transactional law, including business law, financial services, employment matters, and litigation. She represents start-ups, family-owned businesses, agricultural operations, and larger corporations, advising on structure, governance, liability, succession planning, commercial transactions, and other ongoing business needs across Montana and beyond.

Kimberly earned her J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law and her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Her legal education prepared her for a practice involving business transactions, litigation, employment matters, real estate, financial services, and regulatory issues. She applies that background when advising companies on operational decisions, contractual relationships, governance, financing, and disputes that may affect business objectives and growth.

Kimberly assists clients with contracts, leases, license and use agreements, financing and loan documents, real property documents, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, and employment agreements. She also advises on regulatory issues, insurance requirements, employment policies, drug and alcohol testing policies, and intellectual property protection. Her transactional work includes complex mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, with responsibility for deal structure, due diligence, agreement drafting, and preparing companies for closing and post-closing matters successfully.

Kimberly A. Beatty also represents employers in unlawful discrimination, wrongful termination, wage, and unemployment benefits claims. Her litigation experience includes constitutional law, elections law, real estate and property disputes, copyright infringement, civil rights litigation, municipal liability, and insurance defense. She has handled pleadings, discovery, legal research, depositions, witness interviews, dispute resolution, court hearings, and trials. She is admitted in Montana, the US District Court for Montana, and the Ninth Circuit as well.
