Kenneth M. Suggs

Kenneth M. Suggs is a Litigation Principal at Janet, Janet & Suggs, LLC, where he leads the firm’s Personal Injury Division and works on medical malpractice matters. With more than 40 years of experience, he represents people harmed by medical errors, defective products, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death. His cases have involved highway crashes, workplace injuries, birth injuries, burns, and claims against major corporations. Kenneth combines extensive trial experience with long-standing advocacy for injured consumers and families across complex cases.

Kenneth earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1975 and his B.A. in Economics from Clemson University in 1968. Before law school, he served in the United States Navy, including two years during the Vietnam War. His military service included the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat “V,” Combat Action Ribbon, and several additional honors. His education and service preceded a legal career centered on plaintiff advocacy, trial work, and consumer rights throughout South Carolina.

Kenneth has held major leadership roles in organizations focused on trial advocacy and civil justice. He served as President of the American Association for Justice from 2005 to 2006 and previously led the South Carolina Association for Justice. He has also served with the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Association of Medical Malpractice Attorneys. His professional work includes representing seriously injured clients, trying complex cases, and pursuing judgments and verdicts against large corporate defendants in federal courts.

Kenneth M. Suggs has received extensive professional recognition throughout his career. Best Lawyers in America has recognized him since 1991, including multiple Lawyer of the Year honors for medical malpractice, personal injury, and product liability litigation. He has been selected to South Carolina Super Lawyers since 2008 and holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Kenneth has also received the Southern Trial Lawyers Association War Horse Award and other honors for trial advocacy, leadership, and service to civil justice across the profession.
