About

Kenneth Kirk is an Anchorage attorney who now limits his practice to estate planning. He has practiced in Alaska since 1987 and previously divided his work between estate planning and litigation, including contested probate matters. That litigation background informs his current focus on helping clients organize their affairs, reduce the likelihood of future disputes, and create plans that address property, decision-making, probate concerns, and the practical needs of individuals and families.

Kirk earned a Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School in 1987 with a concentration in business law and regulation. He received a B.A. in History from the University of Alaska, Anchorage in 1983. His legal education and earlier litigation experience provide a strong foundation for identifying issues that can create conflict in estates and for developing planning documents intended to give clients clearer direction over assets and future decisions.

Kirk opened his own practice shortly after admission to the Alaska Bar and has practiced throughout the state from Anchorage. Over the years, he handled litigation and many contested probate cases before concentrating exclusively on estate planning. He is admitted before Alaska courts and agencies, the U.S. District Court for Alaska, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, bringing a broad procedural background to a planning-focused practice.

Kenneth Kirk has also contributed to public and professional service through the Alaska Court System’s Appellate Rules Committee, the Alaska Public Offices Commission, and Alaska Bar Association estate planning, probate, and elder law activities. He writes regularly on estate planning and related topics. His practice emphasizes practical planning that helps clients clarify wishes, organize legal affairs, and reduce the risk that important family and property decisions will become contested later.
